Sneha Interview

Sneha Interview
Sneha happy with the experience of having acted with Kamalhassan in Vasool Raja is looking forward to the film `Athu’ in which she plays a possessed woman. Yet another film coming soon to the theatres is Bose in which she is paired opposite Srikant with whom she has given hits before. A brief chat;
How has it being working with Kamalhassan?

It is a dream to work with Kamalhassan. Any actress who works with him will gain so much of insight in acting. He is so down to earth and jolly. I worked earlier in Pammal K sambandam but this time it was a full-length role. Also director Sharan is a great director that I wanted to work with. Both ambitions were realized.

On what basis do you select roles?

I look for variety. After the public acceptance of a homely character called Sathya in 'Parthiban Kanavu', I decided to concentrate more on such roles and stay away from glamour. I did Cheran’s friend in 'Autograph' which was a hit and even in a masala film opposite Ajith Kumar in 'Jana' my role was deglamorised. My forthcoming films like Athu produced by V Sundar will be giving out more of my acting skill. All my characters in movies like ‘Virumbukiren’; 'King', 'Hey nee Romba Azhaga Irukke', 'Vaseegara', 'April Madhathil' and 'Parthiban Kanavu' have been very good ones and struck a chord with all age groups.

Is not glamour a part of acting?

I don't know whether glamour is a part of acting. The public does not like me to do glamour roles and I am not comfortable wearing glamorous dress. Why should I shift to glamour when my homely roles have always been admired and adored? I feel comfortable playing such roles only

Who is your competitor?

I don't see anyone as my competitor. I am the competitor for myself. My aim is to see that film after film I better my performance with every film I act in and give my best.

Despite you being linked up with Srikant you accepted yet another film with him?

It just shows that it’s mere gossip. I don't want to deny or argue or ponder over it. I want to think of positive things only.

Will you come in an item number?

(Looks horrified) Item numbers are for front benchers and here I am not doing glamorous roles and how can you ask me about item numbers? . Even if the role is small like in Autograph and if there is scope for me to perform, I will do it.
